My favorite funny school memory is when I walked into the wrong class in university and had to sit through an ancient civilizations lecture in french when I was looking for a class on Chaucer and english…
one year my daughter was so excited to start-that after I took her pix in front of the school-she didn’t even give me a hug–a teacher stopped her and aked don’t you want to give your Mom a hug–“No she’ll be there after school!!”
I was a class clown- so I have a lot of funny memories that may not have been so funny to my teachers… Being a teacher, I now see that I get back what I deserve! lol 🙂
I don’t know if this is funny or not (my husband thinks it’s funny) but on the first day of high school, one of the very tall senior basketball players slapped me on the behind. I was mortified.
I’ll never forget the day I walked out of kindergarten and made the long journey home all by myself. It was quite an adventure!
My funny memory is when I forgot to change into school shoes and went to school with my slippers!
My funniest back to school memory is when my daughter cut all the bows off her t-shirts because she was going through a tomboy phase. I didn’t think it was funny at the time.
This year, my 9 year old son met his new teacher over the summer and later commented to me, “Mom, she was much nicer and LOOKED much nicer than I thought!” Haha!
My very first day of high school the entire school gathered on the front steps of the school to throw pennies at the freshman. Ah, the joys of hazing!
I actually always remember my first first day of school as a teacher! My mom took a photo of me just like we always did on the first day of school growing up!
My first day of 4th grade my mom showed up with my older brother (8th grader) all bandaged up – he’d tried to vault over the parking barrier, and it had fallen straight to the ground – along with him! We went straight from my school to the doctor’s so he could get stitches…
The elementary school that I went to was around the corner from the neighborhood penny candy store. My friends and I often said that we were walking home for lunch but went and bought candy instead.
I don’t remember what I ate for breakfast, much less anything from my school days. We did take photos of our kids each year, on the first day of school. It’s fun to look back and see how much they changed.
I have totally forgotten my days at school, but I completely remember my kids. The best was my son’s first day of kindergarten. I was ready for him to be upset or worried. Instead he ran to the bus, got on, and left me in the dust. I had the whimper and he didn’t have a care in the world!
My funniest memory is when my son started his first grade and he cut his own hair the day before. His haircut looked so funny
My funniest back to school memory was getting lost in secondary school. I could not, for the life of me, find the correct buildings and classes. I was in a daze, for sure.
I remember something funny happened to me when I was ten. My older sister, me, my two younger brothers were all going to get a ride to school from my father. We lived two miles from my school. Well I came out of the bathroom, and I looked around and I went outside, and my dad took my brothers and sister to school! There is only one problem with this-he forgot to take me! Sorry to say, my dad got to the school, and then he relized that he forgot me, and came back to get me! To think I almost missed the first day of 4th grade!
Me and my sisters were always super excited about picking up our backpacks, then we always ended up getting the same ones.
i remember missing the bus and having to have dad take me.
missing the bus and dad taking me

in 1st grade i misread and sat at ‘stephen’s spot instead of stephanie – and we’re still friends after all these years!
My funniest memory was when my son was so excited to go and be on time that he ran outside in his pajamas before having breakfast.
My funny memory is walking into the wrong class on the first day of school.
Wasn’t really funny then but it’s funny now. I’d moved to a new town and was attending a new elementary school. I insisted on walking home for lunch every day because I was afraid I would get lost and wouldn’t be able to find the cafeteria. It didn’t matter if it was 15 below zero or 50 above— I was going home and no one could stop me!
When I went to kindergarten the school’s dress code was really strict about no shorts allowed so my mom bought me a pair of Coo-lots only instead of them looking like a split skirt as soon as I saw them I told my mom they looked like nice shorts. Well she force me to were them to school and I got suspended for the day for wearing shorts to school when I was sent to the principle’s office I said I told my mom these looked like shorts. Please write down that I was suspended for wearing shorts so that she can see it is her fault. I took the note home to my mom since I only lived across the street she was so mad she went to the school with the tags that said they were Coo-Lots and since those were allowed they needed to let me where them. my mom is persuasive so I got to wear these shorts the rest of the school year. I felt so special
My funniest was when I first started High school, I went to my first class. They did not take role call or anything….all went well. After class, I was checking my schedule to see where to go next…and guess what. The first class I went to was my second class instead…so I had to go and sit thru it again with the same teacher. I was so embarrassed!
I remember being so excited about getting my eighth grade pictures taken, that I actually woke up in the middle of the night and got a shower, thinking that it was time to get up for school. I didn’t even realize it was the middle of the night until I came out of the shower and found my dad still sitting up watching television. I was so embarrassed!

On the second day of school, I got my schedule mixed up and went to the wrong class. I didn’t realize it until 15 minutes in, and had to go explain to the teacher what I did 🙂
This is an embarrassing one at the time but funny now. My first day of 9th grade and high school I was in Spanish class and these boys were laughing and kicking around a pair underwear, lo and behold they were mine! Apparrently in the laundry a pair was caught in the leg of my pants and decided to fall out in first period spanish! Ugh! I was so embarrassed Thank God they were clean!
i’m the one we all laugh at- i cry every year at the first day. in our town we all go to the school to see the kids get OFF and each year i weep. this year, i have THREE going to school and i’ll be a hot mess. the kids just kind of wait for me to tear up LOL
First day of school and im excused to go to the girls room and i went back to the wrong class. I was devastated.

This one isn’t funny, but I was a safety guard in the 5th grade. I had the best time doing it!
When I read your question, all I could think about was in 5th grade when I wore a tie dye shirt and rolled my BANGS with small little curlers. I looked like such a dweeb! hahahaha! Oh…school memories….
When I entered the wrong room and actually stayed there for the whole period!
I got lost my first day of 1st grade and 2 teachers just happened to have the same name. I sat down in the class I thought I was supposed to be in and everyone was older than me. They were reading and working on math and I started freaking out. Then the principal called over the intercom asking if I was in there and my teacher came and got me. My mom was waiting for me in my class room (she wanted me to ride the bus to school so I would know how to get to class… right LOL). She tells me I was only gone a minute but I swear it felt like hours!
Every day in school was a funny story for me. When we had a food fight in the lunchroom and our teacher had us ALL lined up, standing, facing the walls around our huge lunchroom in the 8th grade. Everyone from 7th graders to seniors!
When I got picked to join a dance group during intrams just because I was the smallest,I end up on the top of a pyramid routine, scared to death but I earned some friends and the whole school recognize me after that.
Back in the day when it was safe to walk to school by ourselves I remember being only in kindergarten and walking to school mind you we could see the school from our house. Anyways the one I remember most is my mom sending me to school on a day it was closed LOL I remember knocking on the door of the portable and a grounds attendant coming around outside and saying school is closed dear 🙂
I missed the bus on the first day of my freshman year, my Dads truck wouldn’t start so we made an extremely loud entrance in his huge dump truck. Did I happen to mention my Dad was a “Grind’em if you can’t find’em kind of driver”
I was a VERY shy student starting my freshman yr. in a BIG High School. We were told repeatedly if there were any mistakes in our schedule to follow it as is for the first day or two until the guidance office could work everything out. Well the computer must have short circuited when it spit out my schedule because it had me in all advanced classes and BOYS phys ed. Needless to see I did not go to the boys locker room to dress out but it was a VERY stressful few days!
one of the best childhood memories was walking knee deep in snow going to school only to get there and find out school was closed for the day lol
One of my best memories is when it was very snowy our school bus was not able to pick us up, so we got to stay home! 🙂 I always prayed it would happen again when it was snowy but it never did 🙁
when my grandaughter c ame home from her 1stday at pre-k she said ” i am done with pre-k”she thought she only had to go to school 1 day, i told her no u have a log way 2 go.
My teacher & friends in 3rd grade when my dad died. They were great.
Also, I hate entering giveaways where I have to see another blog entering too. Seems so unfair to see their blog name. Let us followers have a chance to win something as we don’t get products for free doing reviews. There is a couple blog names in this contest, so unfair.
