 Grandma Juice Travels:
Trip To San Diego Sheraton Resort & Marina

Yep! That beautiful place right there… that’s where we called home for the week! I know! We totally scored! The Sheraton Resort & Marina is seriously beyond just a pretty place. If you’re planning a family trip to San Diego, I don’t know why you’d stay anywhere else!

After our craptastic road trip & the breakdown in hell, we pulled into the Sheraton Resort about 9PM. We were hot, tired, cranky… took them up on the valet parking, because… obviously! It took me literally about 2 1/2 minutes to check in. I was really pretty impressed considering the line of other hot, tired and cranky peeps waiting. They don’t mess around.

While we waited for the bellman to bring up our 5859604 bags and my laptop (handle with care) I went out on the balcony to take a peek. And that’s the view! I was kind of in awe, really. The camera has never seen such a gorgeous shot. They are located RIGHT in the bay! If you stay at the Sheraton on your trip to San Diego, you can see not only that gorgeous view but the San Diego skyline as well! Living here in Vegas, all I see is dirt…

Oh! Lookie there! That’s what else I saw from the balcony! The Sheraton has 3 pools and 3 hot tubs! That one was mine! Ok well not all mine, I shared with Grandpa and Ethan. But my cabana boy with fuffy (I just made that word up) alcoholic drinks with umbrellas in them and towels and snacks and, and, and…. he was waiting down there for me to get a good night’s sleep and see him 1st thing in the morning! I think he even winked at me! (don’t tell Grandpa)

Resorts always have way better linens then you do at home, don’t they? Why is that I wonder? Anyways, after sleeping in from our long car trip to San Diego, I had to take another peek at what I could see in the day light… to give you some perspective…

That’s my plush digs… on the 11th floor. They have 1,053 guestrooms and suites which are split between two towers – 705 in the Marina Tower and 348 in the Bay Tower.  (we stayed in a suite in the marina tower) All rooms feature the Sheraton Sweet SleeperSM Bed. And again… why can’t I get these linens for my bed?? I’m asking my new BFF Mark from The Sheraton how to snag some! Also, the Executive Club Level rooms offer complimentary continental breakfast and hors d’oeuvres. (I’ll show you what trays of awesomeness  landed in my room each night in a sec, you HAVE to see this other stuff 1st!)

That’s the full on daytime view! Pretty, right? I think planning our family trip to San Diego was one of the smartest things I’ve done lately! Who wouldn’t want to wake up to this every morning? Beats the brown, Vegas dirt any day! AND!! The Sheraton Resort & marina is just minutes from the historic Gaslamp District. Also right down the jogging path is the seriously coolest spot with off-beat restaurants, a bit of an artsy type district  to walk around and soak up the local flavor! Seaport Village, the San Diego Convention Center, the San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld (that post is coming up this week!) Really, everything is right there just waiting for you!

Speaking of waiting for you! This tray of very fine, yummy sweets was waiting for us after being out and about one day! I know!! The coolest chocolate I’ve ever seen! (yes, I shared some) Also, my BFF Mark won my heart. There was a special *Grandma Juice* tray waiting… it had… WINE!!!! I love my BFF Mark. And honestly, all the 200 employees at The Sheraton go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need and are nice and comfy while you & the family are enjoying your trip to San Diego! I can’t say enough good things about this place!

Tomorrow, I’ll fill you in on all the activities the Sheraton Resort & Marina has to offer and show you everything we did!  It was a total blast!

Oh… One thing I wish I could have had them help me with… the humid air wreaking havoc with my hair! I arrived looking all Angelina Jolie smexy and left looking like the love child of Peter Frampton & Roseanne Rossanadana!

For you youngsters… I give you this:

Check back in on me tomorrow! You’ll see my hair and all the rockin’ stuff we did!

Our trip to San Diego was partially sponsored by The Sheraton Resort & Marina.
