Dezign With A Z: Review And Giveaway

Ever since we got back from our vacation this summer to Sea World, all Ethan has talked about was, well, Sea World. Our plan for the rest of the summer was to give his room a bit of a make-over. My plan was to buy him a new headboard. His plan was to turn his bedroom into Sea World. Now how the heck am I supposed to make that happen? I had no clue. I took it to the internet and came up with Dezign With A Z.

That was the easy part, believe it or not! The hard part was actually picking a wall decal package. They have a HUGE selection. And, as much as he was originally set on a Sea World type theme, we did a lot of bouncing back and forth! I estimate we probably spent a good 2 hours on the Dezign With A Z site ‘OOhhhing’ and ‘Aahhhhing’ over the different themes. Finally, he got back to where he started and we chose the Sea Creatures pack.

Dezign With A Z Makeover

The package arrived and all the wall decals were on a big flat sheet. My first thought was, Uh Oh, how are we going to actually get these on the wall now? Where will they go? I was expecting a layout or blue print of sorts. Turns out, it was cool there wasn’t. Ethan being the OCD kid, had to pick where he wanted them and wouldn’t have followed any pre-set plan anyways.

With Ethan directing Grandpa where to put each decal, they were able to get them all up and in place in about 30 minutes or so. I really expected some grumbling and muttering from Grandpa while he was getting them up. But, it was really very simple. He cut them all out from the original sheet and then placed them with a small piece of tape on the wall so they could get their pattern / blueprint all organized just where Ethan wanted them to be. From there it was a simple peeling away of the backing and pressing them to the wall.

They all ended up nice and flat with no bubbles thanks to a handy tool they send for just that purpose. It’s been about a month since they have been up and so far, so good! Not even a tiny corner has started to peel off. While it’s not the hand carved wooden headboard I imagined for his little room makeover, Ethan’s tickled that he’s got his very own version of Sea World above his bed. I have to admit, I was off base and wrong. The wall decals from Dezign With A Z were probably a better choice.
