I’m Going Shopping For My Crab Dip Recipe. Need Anything From Kroger?
The weekend is here my lovelies and ya know what that means? Right! I get to lay around on the couch drinking wine and eating snacks pretending to be all up into some sporting event the guys are watching on TV. WooHoo! Yep! Weekend is ‘Wine Time’!! But first, I have to go shopping. Need me to grab you anything? I’m making a Crab Dip Recipe! Ok, a super Joe’s Crab Shack knock-off, but still….
You know I’m all ‘Crazy Coupon Lady’ (also, Crazy Wino Lady) And, between March 3rd and March 16th, is Kroger’s Cart Buster event so I can totally stock up on goodies to help me pretend to cheer on whatever team of the week is their favorite. (and grab stuff for my crab dip recipe) But I really need some Downy Un-Stoppables (because I’m a scent snob), some Charmin because my tush deserves only the best (and it’s included in the sale! SCORE!) and some Tostitos (because, hello, crab dip recipe!) Want to see it?
Joe’s Crab Shack Crab Dip Recipe
(adapted from Joe’s Crab Shack)
Ingredients:
- 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened, can use fat free)
- 2 TBSP Mayonnaise
- 1/2 Cup Sour Cream (can use fat free)
- 2 TBSP Butter (softened, not margarine)
- 1/2 TSP Seasoned Salt
- Pinch of Paprika (really, a pinch is just the right amount!)
- 1/4 Cup Onions (diced, I’m going on the fine side here)
- 1/4 Cup Green Pepper (diced, again go with fine or omit if peppers aren’t your ‘thing’)
- 3/4 Cup Mozzarella Cheese (shredded, bagged is super, can be fat free)
- 15 oz Fresh Crab Meat (depending on your preference flaked or chunky)
Directions:
In a medium sized mixing bowl, on low speed combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, and butter until smooth. Add with seasoned salt and paprika and mix until well blended. In same bowl, add onion, green pepper, mozzarella cheese, and crab and mix by hand gently (using the mixer will just make the crab way too mushy, blech) Put all ingredients into glass casserole dish and bake at 350* for 10 to 15 minutes. (you’ll know it’s done when it’s super bubbly)
I’m serving with the Tostitos that are on sale but you can of course grab some veggies, crackers, or maybe even put in a bread bowl!
But, here’s the waaaay cool part! I was getting all my coupons together (crazy coupon ladies do that) and I found out Kroger is also doing a fun surprise bonus coupon game today! (you use their digital coupons loaded on your store card, right?) Here’s how it works: Go to http://clvr.li/WnCUVJ March 8 and also on March 15, and you’ll find three random digital coupons. Add those on to your store card and BAM! More instant savings! It’s a total surprise as to which coupons you’ll get because it’s all SURPRISE!! and distributed randomly so everyone will receive different savings. However, a little birdie told me some deals include Crest 3D White toothpaste, Tropicana orange juice, DiGiorno pizza, Secret deodorant, Pantene and lots more. Ethan is hoping we get in on DiGiorno pizza because silly kids and their pizza!! I’m kinda hoping to score some Pantene!
What’s your plans for this weekend?? Want to shop real quick with me then hit up my crab dip recipe and some wine?

Oh my hubby would so love this dip! Thanks for sharing.
I am not a fan of seafood BUT my husband is obsessed with it, so I will have to make this for him asap!!!!
I miss my Kroger store! They had such great deals even if you weren’t a couponer (like me).
I’m a Maryland girl, so you bet I love Crab Dip!!! That one sounds delicious 🙂 Oooo man, you are making me hungry over here 😛 You always post such yummy recipes!
Love, love, love Crab Dip!!
I WANT A KROGER STORE!!!! We don’t have any near us right now. And I miss them terribly> I tell you when you used to have one and then move somewhere they don’t have them any more; you go nuts. lol.
And that crab dip is awesome! I need to make that for our “date night” in two weeks. We have a movie night and snacks planned; this will go perfect with it.
Crab dip sounds like the perfect thing for a basketball game! Great idea 🙂
That looks delicious and I’d love to try it. I used to shop at Kroger often when I lived in Michigan but we don’t have any here in Cleveland. Hope they do make it here one of these days.
Oh girl, you had me at crab dip. I miss Kroger we don’t have them here in Minnesota.
Oh wow this sounds so good! I love crab anything!
I love me some crab dip. Definitely trying this one!
