When it comes to being all things ‘girly’…. I’ve said a million times, I’m so not. Except, the nail art and designs. Then I’m all in. Just yesterday, I was at it again. I got all lazy and just sat at the salon and let them do it. Totally relaxing and what the heck, right? I could use some pampering. But as I was sitting there ooooohhh’ing and aaahhhh’ing over all the glam nail art designs I already started writing this post in my head. Spring is here ya’ll!! And, following right around the corner is summer so naturally I was checking out the new trends. Some are really pretty, some are a bit funky, which is where I usually head. And honestly, some are just a bit over the top. Even for me! But, there’s something for everyone’s tastes for sure! And, since I’m just so cool like that, I’ve put together this sweet round-up of the hottest nail art designs for Spring and Summer so you can just sit there and get all inspired. Or, something.

Nail Art Tips And Tricks

I know what you’re thinking. This is way too hard! Oh not so!! It took me a bit of practice and I still hit up the salon for acrylic tips because I can not get the hang of that. But with the right tools, tips and tricks, you can and will be doing your own nail art at home! Here’s a few of my favorites! Consider it my little cheat sheet… just for you!

• If you don’t have a steady handy, try Splatter Nails! This is one of THE best tutorials I’ve found for that! ANYONE can do this!
• For a simple french mani, grab some tape or a rubber band to outline where you want your polish to go! BAM! Perfect every time.
• Always do a quick cuticle push back before polishing! Makes a world of difference even for single colored nails!
• I said in my Spring Runway Tutorial post at the very top, I used some of the new Sally Hansen nail color tools. I can’t talk highly enough about them! They make freehand nail art so much easier! Get a few and try them!
• Don’t want to invest a couple bucks in tools? A toothpick, a bobby pin and even a straight pin with that little ball on the end make awesome decorating tools! Want a slightly longer handle? Get a super fine paint brush from a craft store! You’ll be making pro art designs in no time!
• And finally, don’t be afraid to make a mistake! A little dab of polish remover on a Q-Tip and you can have a re-do. Better yet, turn that ‘mistake’ into something cool! There’s no rules as to what designs you can or should make! Wing it girl! Have fun and get your mani on!
